Dallas practices law as a member of the corporate law department of Canada Life. He leads a team of lawyers who advise clients on a wide variety of issues ranging from outsourcing and contract drafting to corporate sponsorships, records management, reinsurance, and general insurance law matters. The main emphasis of Dallas’ own practice remains on group insurance, particularly the group creditor and direct marketing business, and privacy matters.
Dallas is a graduate of Brandon University in Brandon, Manitoba, where he obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in English and Philosophy. He subsequently attended Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto, Ontario. Dallas was called to the Manitoba Bar in 1996, and worked in a general law practice in rural Manitoba until joining the Canada Life organization in 1999. He has been active in industry associations including CAFII and CLHIA, where he currently chairs the Alternate and Creditor’s Distribution Committee and is past chair of the Privacy Committee and the Legal Section executive.
