Sophie De Koninck is an Assistant Vice President and Senior Counsel at Sun Life. She practices in the area of distribution of financial products and services supporting the Retail Advice & Solutions business at Sun Life. She supported various business groups since joining Sun Life in 2009. She was involved in the launch of the mutual fund manager SLGI Asset Management Inc. and the first funds that were publicly offered.
Prior to joining Sun Life, she started her career at an important national law firm and then pursued her career with another international financial institution before joining Sun Life. She also acted as Ombudsman for the Canadian Olympic Team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
She is a member of the CFIQ Regulatory Committee since 2004. She is also a new member of the CIRO Quebec Regional Council and Chair of this year’s CLHIA Legal Section Executive Committee.
She studied at the National University of Singapore and is fluent in French, English and Mandarin.
