Giulia Ahmadi has been the General Counsel of the Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) since 2021. She leads the organization’s Legal Department which supports the various legal needs of the CLHIA and supports its members in navigating the legal and regulatory issues that arise in the life and health insurance industry. Prior to the CLHIA, Giulia was in-house counsel for one of CLHIA’s member companies for over 18 years. Before that, her legal career intersected with the life and health insurance industry in various ways. She has been practicing law for over 35 years and spent the first 20 years of her career as a litigator. She has been a leader of various in-house legal teams, including her role at the CLHIA.

Giulia enjoys working with the life and health insurance industry to advocate on important issues that affect the insurance industry so that it better serves the millions of Canadians it touches. Outside of work, she volunteers her time by siting on two not-for-profit boards.
