Jill leads EY’s Canadian Operational Tax practice and has over 15 years of experience advising clients in the financial services sector on information reporting and withholding tax matters. She has a diverse professional background providing tax advisory, tax compliance and tax risk services to various financial services industry segments including the banking, broker dealer, insurance, asset management, and leasing sectors. Jill leads EY Canada’s FATCA, Common Reporting Standard (CRS) and QI practices and has served clients on these and related issues for over 14 years. Jill has extensive experience on information reporting and withholding related matters including process and control design and remediation, creation of procedures manuals, performance of compliance audits for large multi-national corporate groups, assisting with the preparation of audit defence responses, presentation of client training sessions, and performance of mock audit services. She is also currently a key advisor on FATCA and CRS implementation projects for several large Canadian financial institutions. Jill is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CA) (1991) with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree from the University of British Columbia. Jill is a frequent speaker at conferences and industry sponsored events on US and Canadian withholding and information reporting matters.
