Stephen Wong is a partner at KPMG Canada. Stephen has more than 20 years of corporate tax experience specializing in the financial institutions industry with a focus on clients in the insurance industry. Stephen has assisted clients with the development and implementation of off and onshore captive insurance structures, tax planning and corporate restructuring of multi-national life insurance companies and the provision of tax accounting advice relating to the implementation of IFRS 17 and other significant non-routine transactions. Stephen has led tax provision engagements of large property and casualty and multinational life insurance companies subject to CPAB and PCAOB standards. He has also advised life insurance companies on policyholder taxation matters relating to their insurance products.
