This session will provide participants with an update on the latest developments relating to Part XVIII (“FATCA”) and Part XIX (“CRS”) of the Income Tax Act.
 
The first part of this session will explore recent and upcoming changes to compliance obligations under CRS emerging from the following:
-    Changes to the CRA’s administrative positions as reflected in the CRA’s recently revised CRS Guidance, and 
-    Legislative amendments to CRS (“CRS 2.0”) that are proposed to come into effect on January 1, 2027.
 
The second part of this session will provide participants with an update on the CRA’s recent enforcement activity relating to FATCA/CRS, including tips and tricks that insurers should keep in mind for surviving an audit.
