Anne Vettorel, CPA, CA, is Vice-President, Global Tax Accounting, Technology and Risk at Canada Life, leading the team responsible for the global tax accounting and reporting function, tax technology solutions, and tax risk management. During her 20 years in the Tax Department at Canada Life, Anne has focused on improving how tax work gets done, using technology, well-designed processes, and strong governance to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and control. Throughout her career, she has championed the modernization of tax processes through automation, data-driven analysis, and technology-enabled solutions. Today, she is also leading efforts to explore how AI can improve day-to-day productivity, enhance access to information and insight, and build on existing automation and technology foundations through more intelligent, agent-enabled ways of working. Her goal is to use AI in a practical and well-governed way, within strong risk management and governance frameworks, to help tax professionals spend more time on higher-value activities and support better decision-making.
