Donna has been in the dental hygiene profession for 15 years with an honours diploma in dental hygiene and holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Carleton University. She also has a certificate in Teaching and Training Adults. Her previous career was in the banking industry where she advised clients on their mortgage, lending and mutual funds needs. As a dental hygienist, she has worked in both periodontal and general practice and held a faculty and preclinic coordinator role at a dental hygiene program in Ottawa. In her current role as manager of professional practice at the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association, she provides guidance to members of the Independent Practice Network advising them on opening and operating their own business. Donna also provides guidance to CDHA members on healthy and respectful workplace concerns, collaborates with Health Canada and Sun Life on CDCP implementation for dental hygienists and develops resources to educate the public on oral health.
