Giulia Falbo Ahmadi is VP & General Counsel at CLHIA. She leads the organization’s Legal Services Division comprised of 4 other lawyers who, together, support the various legal needs of the CLHIA and support the legal issues that arise in the industry. Giulia joined the CLHIA in August 2021. In this role, she supports the CLHIA staff in developing advocacy strategies to shape policies, promoting legislative and regulatory outcomes that support the life and health insurance industry, and advancing legal interpretations which are the result of collaborating with member insurers, government, and regulators. Giulia has been practicing law for over 30 years. Prior to joining the CLHIA, Giulia was part of Manulife’s legal team for over 18 years. She began her career at Manulife as a litigator, but over the last 9+ years she was there, she held the role of AVP & Chief Counsel supporting various lines of group businesses. Prior to Manulife, she was primarily in private practice as a litigator. She enjoys working with the life and health insurance industry to advocate on important issues that affect the insurance industry so that it better serves the millions of Canadians it touches. Outside of work, Giulia volunteers her time by siting on two Not-for-profit boards.
