Nancy Carroll is Senior Counsel and Co-Chair, National Insurance & Reinsurance Group at McCarthy Tétrault LLP where she has been a long-term partner. She is recognized as an accomplished regulatory, compliance and deal lawyer focused on advising insurance and reinsurance companies on complex regulatory matters and transactions. Nancy is ranked Band 1 by Chambers Canada and as a leading lawyer in insurance in L’expert, The Legal 500, Who’s Who Legal Canada and other ranking directories. Under Nancy’s leadership, McCarthy Tétrault has been named Insurance & Reinsurance Law Firm of the Year in Canada each year from 2020 to 2024 by Global Law Experts. Nancy has served on the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA) Stakeholder Advisory Committee for Life and Health Insurance. Nancy is the editor of Consolidated Insurance Companies Act of Canada, Regulations and Guidelines, 2024 Edition published by Thomson Reuters. She has co-authored the Canadian chapter of Anti-Money Laundering International Law and Practice, published by John Wiley & Sons. Nancy is a member of the Board of Directors of The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation and an Honorary Chair of The Weekend to Conquer Cancer in support of Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Nancy received her JD from the University of Toronto, her MA (International Politics) from Queen’s University, her BA (Hons.)
