Ladelle Baar, CPA, CA, is a Chartered Professional Accountant with over 20 years of experience in the insurance industry. She holds undergraduate degrees from the University of Ottawa (Magna Cum Laude), University of Western Ontario, and several other accreditations and qualifications.

Ladelle is known and respected for her dedication, passion, and outside the box thinking. Her team goes above and beyond seeking out bold new solutions through innovation helping to modernize and redefine norms within the insurance industry. As a sought-after presenter and contributor to articles, she has shared her specialized technical expertise openly throughout her career. She demonstrates a commitment to education and mentorship for a variety of audiences, inspiring and fostering the transfer of knowledge to the next generation while ensuring future sustainability. Today she leads the Product Taxation and Financial Underwriting teams as an approachable, dynamic, strategic leader and trusted advisor. She oversees the Canadian income tax implications for policyholders and clients of insurance and wealth products sold by the Canadian division. Focusing on product development, key business initiatives, tax policy, and proposed changes at the industry level. Ladelle’s team provides product tax opinions, case specific advice, financial statement interpretations and analysis and underwriting expertise on all ultra HNW life insurance policy applications.

Representing Canada Life, Ladelle is a member and active contributor to numerous industry tax focused working groups and committees (CALU, CLHIA SIMA), including chairing the CLHIA policyholder tax committee and often presenting at tax officers conferences and advanced education symposiums. Ladelle is also deeply committed to and actively participates in governance roles on numerous boards and committees and is a dedicated advocate for professional development and community organizations such as the Children’s Health Foundation and the CPA Canada’s Financial Literacy education program.
