Dean is a Senior Principal in the Toronto office of Oliver Wyman Actuarial Consulting Inc. He specializes in data and analytics. His primary focus is to help clients extract real business value from their data and analytics assets, breaking down complicated problems into actionable pieces and delivering work that can be implemented in complex regulated business environments. In addition to his analytics work, Dean has developed real expertise in change management and agile project delivery, which has proved crucial in adapting to rapid changes in the data and analytics field. Dean has over 20 years of experience in the financial services sector. Prior to joining Oliver Wyman, Dean worked for a large investment bank where he developed automated trading algorithms, was the chief data scientist for a fin-tech startup and was an actuary at a large multi-strategy hedge fund. Dean has a passion for mentoring and educating others, championing data literacy and has taught continuing education courses in data and analytics at a Canadian university. Dean is a fellow of the Society of Actuaries and has a degree in Actuarial Science and Statistics from Western University.
