Marsha has over 30 years of expertise in the Canadian financial services sector, with a career spanning private practice with leading Canadian law firms, regulatory leadership, and strategic consulting. She joined Advocis as General Counsel in May 2025 from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA), where she advised senior management on market conduct and regulatory matters and led the development of national guidance. Also, Marsha has been a trusted consultant, advising organizations on financial services regulatory frameworks and strategic initiatives.
Throughout her career, Marsha has served in senior roles, including:
• Vice President, Member Regulation Policy at the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada (IIROC), where she led key regulatory initiatives and engaged extensively with industry stakeholders.
• Counsel in the Investment Management Group at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, providing guidance on complex securities regulatory matters.
• Senior Legal Counsel, Registrant Legal Services at the Ontario Securities Commission.
Marsha holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Osgoode Hall Law School and a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) from Queen’s University.
