With more than 35 years of experience in life, disability, and critical illness claims, Claire brings deep expertise and a longstanding commitment to disability case management. Her work has consistently focused on supporting members in achieving optimal recovery and facilitating safe, sustainable return-to-work outcomes. Claire began her career in 1988 as a claims adjudicator, building a strong foundation in claims management before moving into progressively senior leadership roles. She started her leadership journey with Blue Cross Life, where she was responsible for oversight of best practices in claims management. In 2012, she moved to Alberta Blue Cross to lead claims operations, where she guided teams and advanced practices in disability management until her retirement in December 2023. Throughout her career, Claire has been a seasoned presenter to clients, brokers, and industry audiences, speaking at conferences and professional forums. She now works as a consultant, developing training materials, supporting process improvement initiatives, and delivering education in disability claims management. Claire holds industry designations including FLMI, ACS, ALHC, and CEBS, reflecting her broad expertise in insurance and employee benefits. She has also contributed to industry education through a series of training videos for independent medical examiners, developed in collaboration with the University of Montreal, with a focus on insurance law and the application of disability contract provisions. A past member and Chair of the CLHIA Claims Committee, Claire has played an active role in shaping industry practices and standards.
