Nicole Hanks began her career with the OPP in April 2006, stationed at a general duties detachment. In 2012 Nicole joined the Caledon Street Crime Unit, where she spent two years before joining the Caledon Major Crime Unit. While in the Major Crime Unit, Nicole was the lead investigator on a multi-jurisdictional kidnapping, a manslaughter, and a multi-jurisdictional human trafficking case. In 2018, Nicole joined the Serious Fraud Office (SFO). Nicole’s work in the SFO has her involved in a number of complex investigations. She won the Canadian Bankers Association award for Investigative Excellence in 2022. She is currently the Detective Staff Sergeant of Operations.
