Dr. Pierre Côté is an epidemiologist and global leader in disability and rehabilitation research, with expertise in insurance-related health outcomes. A professor at Ontario Tech University, he is the founding Director of the Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research (IDRR), a leading international research hub focused on improving functioning and quality of life for people with disabilities or rehabilitation needs. In 2024, he was appointed Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre on Rehabilitation and Musculoskeletal Health, the only WHO Collaborating Centre in the world focused on rehabilitation and musculoskeletal health. His work helps translate research into practical approaches that support recovery, return to function, and better decision-making in health, rehabilitation, and insurance settings. Over his career, he has published more than 420 research papers and has advised health, rehabilitation, and insurance communities on applying evidence to improve real-world outcomes.
