Tanya Tourangeau

Reconciliation Strategist & Consultant at Tanya T Consulting

Tanya is a proud Dene First Nation from the Northwest Territories, currently residing on Treaty 6 territory in Edmonton, Alberta. Tanya’s expertise lies in bridging partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous governments, organizations, and communities, with the aim of fostering collaboration and nation-building.

With a background in leading Reconciliation through cultural education, joint economic development, strategic planning, stakeholder relations, and organizational change, Tanya has worked extensively with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous government, non-profit, and for-profit entities. Her vast experience has contributed to the creation of meaningful and large-scale systemic impact.

Tanya often quotes a powerful truth embraced by Indigenous leaders - 'economic development is the horse that pulls the social cart'. This belief underscores her conviction that fostering Indigenous business growth leads to positive social change. Recognizing the barriers faced by Indigenous businesses and economic development, Tanya T Consulting emerged as a means to build bridges to facilitate the progress of the economic development horse. By enhancing relationships and building capacity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous stakeholders, these bridges enable mutual and beneficial opportunities for all involved.

Tanya takes pride in her work and her passion towards advancing partnerships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Through her guidance, collaborative efforts can contribute to the shared goal of building a prosperous and inclusive nation.

Tanya’s Vision

Through Reconciliation and Collaboration, Indigenous People and Canada thrive together.
