Marilyn Poitras
Former Commissioner for Canada’s National Inquiry on MMIWG and Former Director of the University of Saskatchewan’s Indigenous Law Centre, Marilyn Poitras is a globally sought after expert on justice, reconciliation, and indigenization at every level of Canadian society.
Through her core values of empathy and kinship and talents as a teacher, Marilyn is a committed advocate for inclusive and ethical spaces. An innovative changemaker of Métis and Irish descent from Saskatchewan, Marilyn is a lawyer, negotiator, professor, film producer, and most importantly a community builder.
A Harvard Law School graduate, Marilyn also has studied alongside traditional knowledge keepers and communities from all over the world. In her work she utilizes longstanding teachings of natural, spiritual, and human law to positively build bridges between communities.
Passionate about embodiment of self in all spaces, Marilyn illuminates how organizations around the world can become inclusive and ethical spaces. With wit, grace, and skillful storytelling, Marilyn Poitras shines a light on endless possibilities for our collective future.
