Since 1989, the Syndicat Professionnel des Homéopathes du Québec (SPHQ) has been advocating to government authorities for the formal recognition of the homeopathic profession and for homeopathy to have its rightful place within Quebec’s healthcare landscape. Its mission is to bring together homeopaths trained according to rigorous standards in order to protect the public, defend professional practice, encourage research, and promote the integration of homeopaths and homeopathy within Quebec’s healthcare system.

At this event, the SPHQ will serve as the provincial representative of the Canadian Homeopathic Association (CHA). The CHA is the only national organization that unites the majority of professional homeopathic associations in Canada, bringing together six associations representing nine provinces—from British Columbia to the Maritimes. It acts as the primary liaison with Health Canada, advocates for improved insurance recognition of homeopathy, and ensures that its provincial members uphold high standards of training, ethics, and practice to safeguard the public.
